How it works

Flat works in two ways.

As a reader.
Follow the sources you care about. Flat understands RSS, podcasts, YouTube, Reddit, Mastodon, Bluesky, and more. Everything appears in one chronological timeline. Paste a URL or search for a keyword and Flat finds the right source.

As a save-it-for-later app.
Found something worth keeping? Save it from your timeline, from any app, or from your browser. It goes into your Stash — articles, videos, podcasts, and links, all in one place. Nothing expires. Nothing demands attention. It is there when you come back.

Why it exists

Most apps turn content into obligations — badges, counters, rankings, and algorithms that decide what you should see next.

Flat removes that pressure.

There is nothing to catch up on, nothing to clear, and nothing to satisfy. Just your content, in your timeline and your Stash, at your pace.

Privacy

Flat has no ads, no tracking, no accounts, and no AI features. Your data stays on your device. Optional iCloud sync keeps your feeds, saved items, settings, and playback progress in sync across devices. Anonymous usage statistics can be shared to help improve the app.
